Jewelry Care
La Côte Club jewelry is crafted by hand from sterling silver, gold vermeil, and natural gemstones, each chosen for its beauty and character. With proper care, your pieces can preserve their beauty for years to come.
How should I care for my jewelry?
Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotions, hairspray, and household or cleaning products.
Keep your jewelry away from prolonged exposure to moisture and humidity.
Put your jewelry on last, after applying skincare, fragrance, and other products.
How should I store my jewelry?
Store each piece separately in its La Côte Club pouch or case to protect it from scratches and unnecessary exposure to air and moisture.
For longer periods of storage, we recommend keeping your jewelry in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. A small desiccant packet may be added in humid climates to help minimize tarnishing.
When traveling, keep your pieces in their original La Côte Club case to protect them and prevent the earring posts from bending or becoming damaged.
How should I clean my jewelry?
Precious Metals
Use the La Côte Club polishing cloth included with your purchase to gently remove surface oils, dirt, and light tarnish.
When polishing gold vermeil, use a light touch and avoid excessive polishing, as this can gradually wear the gold plating.
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish.
Gemstones
Gently wipe gemstones with a soft, damp cloth after wearing.
Avoid hot water, harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive materials. Porous or more delicate gemstones, such as turquoise and emerald, should be cleaned only with a soft, dry, untreated cloth.
How to prevent tarnishing?
Sterling silver and gold vermeil may naturally tarnish over time. Proper storage and gentle, regular cleaning can help preserve the finish of your jewelry. When not in use, store your pieces in their La Côte Club pouch or an airtight container, in a cool, dry place.
Gold plating naturally wears with time and regular wear. If you wish to restore the finish of your piece, we recommend visiting a trusted jeweler for professional cleaning or replating.
