Jewelry Care

All La Côte Club jewelry is carefully handcrafted using natural gemstones, gold vermeil, and sterling silver that require love and care to maintain their beauty. Please read our care guide below to learn how to properly care for your jewelry.

How should I take care of my jewelry?

Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or engaging in any activity that may expose it to moisture or harsh chemicals.

Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cleaning products, as these can tarnish or damage the finish of your jewelry.

Keep your jewelry away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight.

How should I store my jewelry?

Store each piece of jewelry individually, ideally in the La Côte Club pouch provided, to avoid scratching.

If you live in a humid climate, include a small packet of desiccant crystals in the storage to help reduce tarnishing.

When traveling, we suggest that you store your jewelry in the original La Côte Club case to prevent the posts from being damaged.

How should I clean my jewelry?

Precious Metals:

To maintain shine and remove dirt and tarnish, use the La Côte Club polishing cloth (included with every purchase). Avoid over-polishing gold vermeil to preserve the gold plating.

Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish.

Gemstones:

Clean gemstones with a soft, damp cloth after wearing. Do not use hot water, harsh chemicals, or abrasive materials.

For porous stones like turquoise and emerald, use an untreated, dry, soft cloth only.

How to prevent tarnishing?

Gold vermeil and sterling silver may naturally tarnish over time. Store your jewelry in a sealed plastic bag or airtight container when not in use to slow down the oxidation process.

Wearing your jewelry frequently can help maintain its shine. However, if you’re storing your pieces for an extended period, occasional cleaning is recommended.

La Côte Club is not responsible for the maintenance of your jewelry, nor for natural wear.
